We make this at home often. Days when you are fed off the same garam masala, red chili powder, the ginger garlic tempering, and those onion and tomato gravy dishes, this salad comes as a welcome cool break. With the temperatures slowing increasing in Northern India, include this in your list of salads.

Easy to make. Good to eat.

The ingredients are simple. The preparation hardly takes 10 minutes. Though, I would suggest you cool it for 15 min to a half hour in the refrigerator before serving. We have it just before we begin the main course, as also a mid-morning or evening snack.

Beetroot-1 large

Fresh Green Grapes-a small bunch

Fresh mint leaves-1/4 cup

Lemon juice-2 tablespoons

Rock Salt-a pinch

Black pepper powder-a pinch

Roasted Sesame Seeds (optional)-1/4 Tsp

 

Method

  1. Wash the beetroot.

2. Skin and grate it.

3. Wash the grapes

5. Mix the beetroot, grapes, mint leaves, salt and pepper powder in a clean bowl and chill in the refrigerator for 15 to 20 minutes.

6. Squeeze lemon.
